Team structure

Richard Cole is the fund manager for the four Future Money portfolios.

Future Money works closely with Margetts Fund Management.  Margetts undertake the administration, dealing and compliance services for the Future Money portfolios, a role which is known as the Authorised Corporate Director (ACD).  Margetts appoint Future Money as the Investment Manager.

In addition, the investment teams of Future Money and Margetts also form a joint Investment Committee. This committee consists of Richard Cole, three further fund managers and a team of investment analysts.

The Investment Committee meet formally every week to discuss the latest developments in markets, economics and geopolitics while reviewing all portfolios and debating what impacts the latest developments will have, considering investment positioning. Each committee member contributes ideas and research to the discussions, including both macroeconomic consideration and fund specific research, which is used in deciding how to populate the investment portfolios.

These weekly meetings form the basis of building and adjusting the investment views of the team and the positioning of the portfolios. However, should major developments happen then ad hoc meetings can be held to discuss their impacts. On top of this, portfolio monitoring is also carried out daily, with rebalancing trades placed where necessary.

Investment oversight

We recognise that the safety and security of your money is of paramount importance. In addition to the weekly fund management meetings we have in place a highly respected independent investment professional who holds an oversight role, responsible for challenging the fund managers and reporting to the board on whether:

  • > The investment solutions are performing as intended
  • > The investment decision-making processes are robust
  • > Appropriate risk management is in place
